The city of Galveston is invited to join Ambassadors Preparatory Academy for our Fall Festival Celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 5001 Ave. U.
The Galveston Chamber of Commerce will honor the school for five years of service to education at noon during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Students will be treated to many traditional activities with special treats, a creative pumpkin patch, face painting, arts and crafts, game booths, a game truck and more.
Older children can expect plenty to see throughout the festival with a haunted mansion and performances by cheerleaders, dance teams, APA choir and a tennis tournament.
There will be an enormous amount of excitement with raffles and basketball-shooting contests.
The festival is a creative way for students to celebrate the harvest season and a time of enjoyment with family and friends.
The festival is a fundraiser that supports educational field trips to Washington, D.C., and New York, organized by the Smithsonian Institution, and to fine arts performances.
Food always is an inviting part of a festival, and there will be something for all, including sausage po-boys, corn on the cob, chips, sodas, baked foods, snow cones, chocolates, hot dogs, lemonade and more.
APA is striving to provide a learner-centered environment that cultivates excellence, offers challenges and embraces lifelong learning.
The festival brings parents and community members together in support of enhancing student achievement in a fun manner.
All proceeds will benefit students’ field trips.
We look forward to working with you in an effort to develop minds and have great fall family fun.
Patricia Williams is superintendent of Ambassadors Preparatory Academy in Galveston.
